ProThera Biologics was established in the state of Rhode Island in 2001 by Yow-Pin Lim, MD/PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Brown Medical School and Douglas C. Hixson, PhD, Professor of Medicine and Pathology/ Laboratory Medicine, Brown Medical School. Both co-founders are actively engaged in the biomedical research in the Carcinogenesis Laboratory at Rhode Island Hospital, where Dr. Hixson is the longstanding Research Director and Dr. Lim is a Research Oncologist.
